Like most of you I have gotten used to paying for exam preparation courses, anything from £50 to £1000+ per course.
Most of the ones I have attended have been good value for money but i guess the biggest factor is how you use them.
Depending on your learning style, lecture based courses with varied interactivity may be of benefit.
The pandemic has also accelerated the adoption of the online learning environment with mixed reviews. A huge advantage being less travel, hotel costs, subsistence expenses and of course home made coffee. Which brings me back to the topic of coffee.
One less coffee a week will save you £3-4

I have designed it to explain common but difficult concepts tested both in the FRCS and in the ST3 interviews.
During my preparation, I found lots of valuable resources but I often found myself in the situation where I was being asked about topics in a direction that I hadn't been exposed to. For example, I was being asked to explain concepts which I had read about but in a diagram format.
This was a new challenge as I found myself having to think on my feet and create something in the heat of the moment. The creators amongst you will know that creative work under pressure is never quite as good.
I therefore developed a set of principles that helped my creative process in these situations.
